James Claude Parsons

James Claude Parsons Sr., age 72, of Rogersville, entered into his eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital in Rogersville. He enjoyed doing body work and painting cars for a living and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Parsons; son, James Claude Parsons, Jr.; parents, George and Sarah Parsons; and sister, Burnece Killen. He is survived by his daughter's, Tisha Carter (Lawrence), Rosa Starnes (David), Teresa Jenkins (Eddie) and Valerie Parsons; sons, James W. Parsons, Curtis Parsons (Bobbie) and Charles Gillenwater, Jr. (Martha); several grandchildren, especially Braydon Parsons, Summer Parsons, Andrea Ramey and Justin Rimer; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Nannie Steffey, Collean Chapman (Earl), Juanita Chapman and Elsie Richmond; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Chestnut Flats Cemetery in Kingsport. All those wishing to attend the burial are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
