James Henderson Greene

James Henderson Greene, age 80, of Church Hill, went to be with his wife in Heaven on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, following a brief illness. James was born on February 13, 1943 to the late Barney and Myrtle Greene. He was a retiree of Holston Defense Corporation with 30 years of service and also a retiree of BAE with 25 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Greene; sister, Anna Mae Gilliam; and brother, Richard Greene. He is survived by his children, Janet (Daymon) Byrd, James Alan Greene, and Amy (Tim) Blakely; 4 grandchildren, John Greene, Joshua (Emily) Blakely, Emily (Zac) Lemmons, and Grayson Byrd; 2 great-grandchildren, Kylie Blakely and Connor Blakely; sister, Patsy Quillen; brother, John Greene; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for James will be held at a later time and will be announced by the family. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport is proudly serving the Greene family.
