James Preston Orfield
Oct 16, 1946 — Mar 3, 2018
James Preston Orfield, 71, left this troubled world after a brief battle with pancreatic and liver cancer on March 3, 2018, to go to a better place where there is nothing but happiness. He was saved and baptized at an early age. In recent weeks he prayed to God to forgive him of all his sins and that he is ready to come to his heavenly home. He was one of five children, he was born on October 16, 1946, in Sullivan County to the late James and Morine (Christian) Orfield. He worked at AFG Greenland Glass plant as an operator for 36 years before his retirement in 2006. He was a member of 3141 Fraternal Order of the Eagles on Stone Dr where he loved to meet with his "Morning Buddies". He loved going to races, University of Tennessee football games, Lady Vols games, but the thing he loved most was going fishing and fussing with his best friend, Julius Parsons, all the way there and all the way back.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Betty Crawford; brother, Gene Orfield; infant brother, Michael Orfield; niece Tonia (Sims) Arnold; best friend, Julius Parsons; brother-in-law, Donnie Ball.
James left behind his special love of thirty years, Peggy Warren; sister Carol Sims and husband Buck; brother, David Orfield; stepdaughter, Rita Hensley and husband Billy; grandchildren, Jessica Artrip and Jennifer Bise and husband Justin; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jaycie, Maddox, Jentry, and Knox; and nieces, Sonya, Donna, And Tina.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Larry, Denise, Connie, Becky, and Christine of Amedysis Hospice for taking care of James in his final days. This place and wonderful people are a Godsend to us as the family. No words can truly explain our gratitude and love for these people. It was an honor to have them in our home. God Bless you all.
