Jean Munal

Jean Elizabeth Munal, age 91, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Wexford House. She was a life member of the Scottish Clan Sutherland Society of North America and also a member of the National Foundation of Football and Hall of Fame Inc. having attended, University of Tennessee Volunteers football faithfully for 50+ years. She was a 1945 graduate of Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN. She was employed with Mason-Dixon trucking for 14 years. Jean enjoyed researching genealogy watching football and traveling abroad. She was well known by her cooking ability and especially her recipe for sausage balls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John E. Munal; daughter, Carol Adalie Morris; parents, Richard Sidney and Aily Sutherland; brother, W.C. Sutherland; and sisters, Nell B. Stratton and Roxie S. Weitzen. She is survived by her sister, Betty S. Mowery of Toney, AL; special niece, Pamela Ketron of Blountville; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Warren Jones, all the doctors and staff at the Heart Center in Kingsport, and all the special staff at Wexford House, especially Amedysis Home Health and nurse, Stephanie, for their care and support shown for Jean during her declining health. Per Jean's wishes, there will be no formal services at the funeral home but a special family gathering will be held at a later time.
