Juanita Hixson

Juanita June Taylor Hixson, 78, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord (December 14, 2014) Born in Scott County, Virginia, she lived in Kingsport most of her life. June worked at Wright's Cafeteria for several years, where she made all those delicious cakes. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernard and Anna Ruth Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Byington and Tonya Hixson and special friend Judy; son, Anthony Mann and wife Suze; grandchildren, Marty Byington, Jamie Byington and wife Teresa, Misty Haney and husband Chris, Scotty Mann and wife Melissa; great grandchildren, Becky Shipley, Dakota Haney, Jacob Buchanan, Aidan Mann, Daisy Harrison, Bobby Dean Gray, Kylah Byington, Brandon Byrd, Heather Maddox and Cody Maddox; her siblings, Bernice Jones, Frank Taylor and wife Jo, Hen Taylor and wife Billie, Florence Franciso and husband Jim, Kate Whetsel and husband Bobby and Gene Taylor and wife Barbara; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Wednesday (December 17th, 2014) at Scott County Funeral Home. A service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Tim Jarrett and Rev. Jim Mullins officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 12pm Thursday (December 18th, 2014) at Starnes Bluff Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50am. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Hixson family.
