Lisa Michelle Whitaker, 53, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord following a brief illness. She was born in Hickory, North Carolina and was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area. Lisa was a CNA for over 21 years and was known for her loving care. She later worked at Hardee’s as a biscuit maker where she made many friends. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren at their football games, fishing, tubing, and going to the race. She was a loving mother, nana, gaga, Lulu, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and Clyde Busick, Kenneth Eugene Salyer; brothers, Little Eddie Salyer and Rick Busick.
Survivors include her daughter, Mandie Begley and husband Roger; sons, Issac Whitaker and wife Emily, and Tyler Whitaker; grandchildren, Brandon, Kaeden, Connor, Emma, Ethan, and Blake; father of her children and friend, David Whitaker; siblings, Johnny Salyer and wife Jimmie, Amanda Wexler and husband Johnny, and Terry Busick and wife Becky; beloved friend, Randy Stanley; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Bro. Eddie Johnson officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Old Kingsport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Issac Whitaker, Roger Begley, Johnny, Dakota, Andrew Salyer, Jonathan Oaks. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
