Lois Irene Manassa

Lois Irene Manassa, age 73 of Kingsport, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Irene was born on March 2, 1950, in Starke, FL to Earl and Grace Griffis. Irene was a native of Jacksonville, FL and retired to Montana. After her husband, Phil, passed, she moved to Tennessee to be near her sister-in-law, Carole Sumner and husband JC, and their family. While living in Kingsport, she met many friends who became family. Irene was a hard worker all her life and she loved her family. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Kingsport, TN. Irene loved cooking and she always kept a tidy home. She loved her community and those who knew her will always cherish her memory. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil Manassa; grandson, Joshua Manassa; and brother, Johnny Griffis. Those remaining who will cherish her memory include her sons, Philip Manassa and wife Laura, and Chris Manassa; three grandchildren, Aiddan Manassa, Raina Pringle, and Aster Pringle; three sisters, Earline, Margaret, and Patty; and many loving family members and friends. A Mass and memorial service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church with Father Michael officiating.
