Mabel "Faye" Woods

Mrs. Mabel "Faye" Woods, 88, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord at her home, October 27, 2016, surrounded by her family. Born in Scott Co., VA she was the daughter of the late George and Myra McMurray Carter. There wasn't anything Faye couldn't cook. She enjoyed canning, gardening, and was the hardest of hard workers. She was also an avid listener of WMCH1260. Faye was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan G. Woods; brother, Cecil Carter; and sisters Ann Carter McMurray, Minnie Cox, and Lena Dean. She is survived by her 6 children, Gary I. Woods and wife Stella, Peggy Hundley (Darrell), Lyle Woods (Peggy), Keith Woods, Dale Woods, and Gale Woods (Selma); 7 grandchildren, Chad Arnold (Frances), Jason Arnold (Mendy), Amy Woods, Jodi Williams (Corey), Julie Arnold (Evan), Gale Woods, and Garrod Woods; 6 great grandchildren, Levi Woods, Amber Arnold, Justin Arnold, Kassidy Arnold, Hunter Arnold, and Hadley Williams; two great-great grandchildren, Zoey Arnold and Annabelle Arnold; sister, Ruby Peters (Winston); and brother in law, Arvil Dean. The family will receive friends, Saturday, October 29, 2016, 5-7:00pm, at Carter Trent Funeral Home and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held, 7:00pm with Rev. Arvil Dean, Rev. Andy Sensabaugh, and Rev. Ed McLain officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday, 2:00pm, at Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
