Mary Caldonia Quillen

Mary Caldonia Quillen 96, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 25 2015 at Indian Path Medical Center. Mary was a lifelong member of Hermon United Methodist Church. She was also known as being a devoted wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Edwin Quillen; daughters, Betty Eaton, Nancy Birchfield; and an infant daughter. Survivors include sons; Edwin Gerral Quillen, Gary Quillen and wife Emma; daughter, Louise Tate and husband Dean;son-in-law Bethel Birchfield; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; . The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 6 to 8pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Hermon United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Amos Sr. and Rev. Randy Powers Officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hermon United Methodist church at 5395 E. Carters Valley Rd. Gate City, Virginia 24251. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Quillen family.
