Melissa Kathleen Vaughn

Melissa Kathleen Vaughn, 57, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2025, at her home. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Donald and Wanda Vaughn. Melissa loved being with her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, mimi, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Vaughn; and granddaughter, Kinley Williams. 

Survivors include her fiancé, Jeff Gilreath; daughter, Misty Williams; son, TJ Williams and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Ethan Farmer and wife Erin, Mackenzie Yates, Hailee Mattox, Hannah McCamy, Desirea Williams, Timothy Williams Jr., and Conner Barnett; father, Donald Vaughn; sisters, Debbie Rhea and husband Buford, Teresa Frost and husband David, Tammy Jobe and husband RJ, and Missy Jones and husband Mark; brothers, Michael Vaughn and wife Anna Marie, and Wayne Vaughn and wife Lola; along with several nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Music will be provided by Mark Jones. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
