Mitsey Lee King

Dec 14, 1947 — Dec 20, 2017

Mitsey "aka Gertrude" Lee King, 70, of Kingsport was born on December 14, 1947 and passed away on December 20, 2017. Special note from her daughter, Missy Jones "My mother, my best friend, gained her angel wings and went home to be with Jesus and many loved ones I'm sure are reunited with my mother. Her two sons, my dad, her siblings, her "sissy" and best friend Sherry, and her parents. She will be greatly missed, but I'm grateful for the 46 years I was with her. She gave it her all her best fight, and walked thru many trials most would've never survived. I always said she was one tough bird. She was 100% a diva, glamourous, loved to shop, and look beautiful and that she was. She was truly "Queen of everything" she was a spitfire, but she had a huge heart full of love and she was a wonderful mother who loved unconditionally." Mitsey is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Bob King; sons, Derrick and Bryan King; her parents, Red Lee and Dorothy Dykes; and all her siblings, Brenda Stone, Jerry Harkleroad, and Sherry Surgenor. Mitsey is survived by her daughter, princess and best friend, Missy King Jones; her grandson and her world, Josh Frye; special son in-laws, Mark Jones and Mark Frye; special sister in-law, Starr King, sister in-law, Frankie King Adams; and several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport on Saturday December 23, 2017 from 5pm to 6pm.
