Norma Vanhuss

Norma Vanhuss, 73, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Carter County and had resided in Kingsport since 1979. She was a member of Pactolus United Methodist Church who was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Norma especially loved to spend time with her grandbabies. Norma Vanhuss is survived by her daughter, Laura Spears and husband, Randy; 6 grandchildren, Patricia Byrd and husband, Adam, David Tucker, Cammy Vanhuss, Stephanie Vanhuss and husband, James Arnold, Ashley Spears, and Davey Spears; 4 great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Anneliese, Nicole, and Alaina along with several sisters, brothers, and extended family members. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Brandon Moore, the staff at Indian Path, and her very devoted friends for the special care given during her illness. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Pactolus United Methodist Church or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the church with Rev. Steve Pederson, officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral service on Friday, November 18, 2016 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Steven Pederson, Mike Boggan, Mike Kindle, Johnny Hurley, Justin Zurn, and Adam Byrd serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Spears and James Arnold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pactolus United Methodist Church, 170 Pactolus Road, Kingsport, TN 37663. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Vanhuss family.
