Otis Theodore Williams

Otis Theodore Williams, 93, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2026. He was born in Lee County, VA to the late Howard and Eula Williams. Otis served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company after many years of service. Otis was a member of Grace Christian Church and attended as long as his health permitted. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Williams; devoted friend and companion, Georgia Quillen.
Survivors include his son, Richard Williams and wife Gladys; daughter, Toni Stinson; granddaughter, Christie Merzlak and husband Joseph; great grandchildren, Fox and Margot Merzlak; sister, Doris Presley and husband Jerry; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Dr. J. Edward Clevinger officiating.
A military graveside service will be conducted at 10am on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50am.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which Otis supported for many years.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his church family for the support they have given him over the years.
