Peggy Elaine Frazier, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday (February 21, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother, and mamaw and she loved her family deeply.
Born in Bristol on July 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Roy Hunigan Sr., and Audrey Arlene Hunigan.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Howard Frazier, daughter and special son, Chandria and Howard, and the two loves of her life, her grandchildren, Dylan and Courtney. Brothers, Roy Hunigan, Jr. and Dwight Hunigan and wife Zella; Sisters: Becky Greer and husband Bob, and Sue Morrell; brothers and sisters in laws: Betty Frazier; Vivian Stapleton; Clyde and Velma Frazier; Wayne and Helen Kite; and Sue-Frazier Bear, and several nieces and nephews.
Among her many roles in life, she cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother the most. She was a life-long member of Adams Chapel United Methodist Church. Peggy worked for Grossett-Dunlap in her early years and also worked for Kingsport City Schools for 35 years. Peggy was the cafeteria manager at Dobyns-Bennett High School, where she never let a student leave hungry. She was loved and admired by her peers and the many students she served. After retirement, Peggy worked part-time at Food City and Save A Lot Grocery Stores.
In keeping with Peggy's wishes, her body has been donated to the Quillen-Dishner college of Medicine.
A Memorial service to honor Peggy's life will be held at Christ Fellowship Church on Saturday, March 1st, at 2:00 pm. Peggy's family will receive friends immediately following the service.
