Robert Reece Jr. also known as Robbie by family, and Bob by others, passed away at home unexpectedly with his wife Joyce by his side on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He was a faithful member of The House of Refuge Church under Pastor Jerry Smith. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Clyde and Josphine Reece; brothers, Sam and Mike Reece.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Hood Reece; her sons, Steve and Matt Robinette; sister, Donna Ball and husband Darel; nephew, Jason Ball; great nephew, Exel Ball; nieces, Sarah and Mercy Ball, Myra and husband and Allen; great niece, Alsya; great nephews, Alex and Andrew; beloved fur babies, Sonny and Gracie; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jerry Smith and Bro. Mark Todd officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Smith, Greg Harper, and Johnny Smith.
A military graveside will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Albert Williams Sr. Memorial Cemetery. Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Reece family.
