Ronald Cecil Hartsock

Ronald Cecil Hartsock, 65, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home. Ronald fought a hard battle with cancer and won. He went home to be with his family in heaven. Ronald never gave up on life. He loved the outdoors, especially farming. Ronald worked at Pet Dairy for 20 years, starting out as a home delivery milkman and ended up driving a tractor trailer. After leaving Pet Dairy he pursued a career in the lawn care business, because he loved the outdoors so much. It hurt him so much when he could no longer do that. Ronald is preceded in death by his father L. Cecil Hartsock; mother, Theda Juel Hartsock; sisters, Judy B. Allen, Carolyn J. Franklin, and Barbara S. Hartsock.; brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Ratliff, sister-in-law, Glenda F. Ratliff; father-in-law, John R. Ratliff; mother-in-law, Norma M. Ratliff. Survivors include his wife Shirley Ratliff Hartsock; daughter Tina Hartsock Waller and husband David; grandsons, Alec, Ashton, and Avery Waller; brothers, Curtis W. Hartsock and wife Joyce, and Bobby J. Hartsock; brother-in-law, Charles L. Ratliff; sister-in-laws, Pat R. Harvel and husband Tommy, and Kathy Ratliff; along with several several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Gary Cavin officiating. A graveside service will be conducted 11am Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to go in procession to the cemetery. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Hartsock family.
