Ronald Glen Lawson, 82, of Jonesborough, TN went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2023. Ronald grew up in Lee County, VA. Ron worked as a coal miner for West Moreland Pine Branch.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Glen Lawson (2021); parents, Grover and Ida Lawson; brother, Vernon passed away in childhood.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Wanda Salyers Lawson; sons, Barry Lawson and wife Heather; daughter-in-law, Angie Lawson; grandchildren, Sarai Lewis and husband Jimmy, and Aaron Lawson and wife Linnea; and Janay Lawson; great grandchildren, Elijah, Emmy and Oliver; sisters, Thelma Lester and Billy Gilly; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Gate City, VA with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Music will be provided by Billy Howard Lawson. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Lawson, Gary Coffey, Todd Salyers, Tim Salyers, Travis Salyers, and Jeff Cowden. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Cowden, Keith Salyers, Duane Gilley, Derek Gilley, and Delmar Lester, Jr.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the Lawson family.
