Ruth Mcconnell Kilgore

Ruth McConnell Kilgore, 93, of Weber City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (June 22, 2016) at Nova Health Care and Rehab Center. She was born in Scott County to the late Henry Lawrence McConnell, Sr. and Oshia Ellen McConnell. Mrs. Kilgore enjoyed volunteering for many years up until the age of 91 with Christian Social Ministry in the Midway Community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Kilgore; a son, Jerry Kilgore; sisters, Clarice Vicars and Cleo Mann. Ruth M. Kilgore is survived by her son, Danny Kilgore and wife, Susan; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kilgore; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; brother, H.L. McConnell, Jr. and wife, Martha along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory Demotts, Nova Health & Rehab, Caris Healthcare for the loving care of Ms. Ruth. Calling hours will be held on Saturday (June 25, 2016) from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel on Saturday (June 25, 2016) with Brother Danny Kerns, officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral at McConnell Cemetery (Midway Community) with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nova Activity Department, 377 Clonce Street, Weber City, VA 24290. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Kilgore family.
