Shirley Faye Royal

Shirley Faye Royal 89, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born in Bulls Gap, TN to the late John Holder and Edith Evans Holder Lane. Shirley moved with her family to Kingsport at a young age where she lived most of her life. Shirley was a Christian and enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother, mamaw, granny, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Willie Mae White; brother, Kyle Lane; special friend, Patsy.

Survivors include her son, Allan Royal and wife Connie; grandchildren, Nikki Taylor, Brittany Hicks and fiancé Jonathan Hughes; great grandchildren, Jake, Hunter, Peyton, Brayden, Jordyn, and Adaley; special niece, Joyce White; sisters, Terry Lane and Kathy Baker; special friends, Betty, Margaret, and Shirl; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jake Taylor, Hunter Manning, Brayden Manning, Jonathan Hughes, Noah McMurray, and Sylas Moore. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
