Timothy "Tim" Edward Kestner
Jun 14, 1952 — Jan 30, 2024
Tim Edward Kestner, age 71 of Kingsport, TN, entered the glories of Heaven on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Tim was born June 14, 1952, in Kingsport, TN to Smith and Irene Kestner. On February 28, 1975, Tim married the love of his life, Mary Jane Butler, and after 48 years of a beautiful life together and raising a family, she survives.
Tim will be remembered for his love of old muscle cars; especially his 1956 Chevy Truck and 1966 Roadrunner. Tim drove a school bus for the Sullivan County District and he was the former owner of the Bloomingdale Gulf Service Station from the early to late 1970's. Tim enjoyed stockcar racing at Kingsport Speedway, NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and he was a huge UT football and basketball fan.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cathy Graham; brother, Tom Kestner; and one niece, Amy Salling. Those left to cherish Tim’s memory are his loving wife, Mary Jane Kestner; daughter, Beth Harkleroad and husband Keith; two grandchildren, Clay Harkleroad, and Reece Harkleroad; sister, Jane Hubbard and husband Jim; brother, Pastor Phil Kestner and wife Debbie; and several loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to DeAnna and Erica on A300 Hall and the staff on Wilcox 3 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Central Assembly of God of Kingsport, located at 1801 McGee Street, Kingsport, TN. A Celebration of Tim’s of life will follow at 5:00 pm with Pastors Phil Kestner and David Smith officiating.
