Virginia Mae Mowell

Virginia "Ginny" Mowell, age 55, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her residence. She was an Animal Cruelty Officer with Sullivan County for many years. She was a strong advocate for animal rights and "No Kill" shelters. She loved her pets, 5 cats, 5 dogs and one very special dog that had passed away, Big Yankee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished all her friends and loved them as if they were family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Graeser; and mother, Winifred Eaton. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Joel Mowell; children, Tonie Jonas (Darrell), Julie Leroy (Daniel) and Paula Garland (Stephen); 9 grandchildren, Dena Tesnear, Kellie Tesnear, Summer Hunley, Korry Hunley, Autumn Garland, Stephanie Garland, Taryn Hagy, Danielle Leroy, and Troy Hagy; great-grandson, Brylie Tesnear; brother, Bo Graeser; special cousin, Debbie Peters; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Bradshaw Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
