Virginia Overbay White

Virginia (Overbay) White, age 79, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Life Care Center in Gray. She was in the first graduating class of Ketron High School in 1955. She was a member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church and was a retiree of the TN Eastman Chemical Company. Virginia loved fishing and being outdoors. She was an avid Elvis fan and was proud that she and the King shared the same birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. White; and parents, Woodrow and Gladys Williams. She is survived by her sons, Gary W. Overbay, Todd A. Overbay and Van E. Overbay; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and sisters, Phyllis Haynes and Berniece Taylor. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with eulogist and grandson, Joshua Overbay and Rev. Doug Drinnon officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Bancroft Bible Camp where she was saved at the age of 10.
