William B. Roberts

William B. "Bill" Roberts 78 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Bill was an avid race fan and was a car salesman for many years. He was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia "Carleen" Roberts; parents, George William Roberts and wife Ruth. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa "Missy" Roberts; brother, Jim Roberts; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 officiating. Pallbearers will be Glenn Edwards, Bill Witherspoon, Dana Conkin, Erritte Osborne, Ray Conley, and Doug Shular. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Hall, C.D. Ward, and Alvin Strictler.
