Wilma Janette Easterly

Wilma Janette Easterly 83, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Wilma was raised in Jonesville, Virginia and was a graduate of Jonesville High School. She enjoyed spending time gardening and working in her flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Sevier Easterly; son, Stephen Sevier Easterly, parents, William Nathaniel and Lou Poteet; sister, Mildred Sue Willis; brother, Joseph Poteet. Survivors include her daughter Kathryn Easterly Rutledge and husband William Ryan; grandchildren, Michael A. Halterman, Ashley K. Halterman, and Shannon R. Rutledge; sister, Mary Ruth Williams; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Brandon Canter officiating. An entombment service will be held at 11am on Friday, May 12, 2017 at East Tennessee Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Easterly family.
