Dewey Gerald Lawson

Kingsport – Dewey Gerald Lawson, 71 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the CLC at Mountain Home, TN following a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Scott County and Kingsport. Dewey was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ruth Miller and Tommy Templeton. Dewey is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Frazier Lawson; daughters, Joyce Palmer and husband Dwight and Amy Chapman and husband Steve; grandsons, Tyler Chapman and Brady Palmer; sister, Patty Dykes; brothers, Tony Templeton and wife Areatha, and Terry Templeton and wife Mary; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the CLC at the VA for their kindness and care. At the request of Mr. Lawson, there will be no formal services. However, family and friends may call anytime at the residence. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Lawson family.
