Elizabeth Taylor Roberts

Gate City – Elizabeth Taylor Roberts, 96 of Gate City (Yuma community), went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at NHC Healthcare following a brief illness. She was a native of Scott County, homemaker and member of Vicar’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Roberts; her daughter, Margaret Ann Roberts; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Gilreath Roberts; grandson, David Roberts; parents, Audley and Mary Belle Taylor; sisters, Rogene Taylor Roller, Nena Taylor Winegar and Mary Ruth Taylor King; brothers, Cecil Taylor and Jimmy Taylor. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Eileen Roberts Deckard; sons, Bruce Roberts, Freddie Roberts and wife Alana and Jim Roberts; grandchildren, Rosalind Roberts Klezos, Bethany Deckard, Joshua Roberts and Eric Roberts; great-grandchildren, Ariel Leach, Alexi Leach, Zane Klezos, Emilyn Roberts and Jackson Roberts; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Holston View Cemetery with Pastor Clarence Bear officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City is serving the Roberts family.
