Hubert Mitchell Sturgill

"Gone Fishing"

Hubert Mitchell Sturgill, age 63, of Gate City, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.  Mitchell was born on August 27, 1960, to Anderson and Blanch Sturgill.

Mitchell worked in landscaping with his brother for many years and he always enjoyed being outdoors.  From NASCAR to wrestling, and from watching his favorite westerns – Gun Smoke- Mitchell enjoyed his life.  He found peace in fishing and just enjoying nature.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clyde and Ricky.  Those left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Sherry and Janice; four brothers, Tim, Paul, Jim and George; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Leon McMurray, Rebecca Hensley, Connie Baker and Donna Williams for their care and support of Mitchell during his time of illness.

It was Mitchell’s wish to be cremated so there will be no formal services.

Carter-Trent / Scott County Funeral Home Weber City is serving the Sturgill family.
