Mary Elizabeth Mcmurray
Jun 11, 1946 — Feb 19, 2025
"Their strength guided us through life's storms, and their wisdom continues to light our path, even in their absence."
In Loving Memory of Mary Elizabeth McMurray
06/11/1946– 02/19/2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mary E McMurray, the matriarch of our family, at the age of 78. She was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live in our hearts. She is now home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Mary was the devoted wife of James, with whom she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love, resilience, and cherished memories. She was a loving mother to Tim (Niki), and Traci (Tracy), a proud grandmother to Brittney (Eric), Wade (Caitlin), Hope (Matt), Lauren, and Megan and a cherished great-grandmother to Kylee, Dawson, Waylon, Harper, and Clayton.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Bettye McClellan, and Faye Montgomery, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond of love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their closeness was a testament to the strength of sisterhood. Along with Sister-in-Law, Reva Larkin Lane and several nieces and nephews.
She now joins in eternal peace with her parents, Jessie and Coy Starnes, her in-laws, Ruth and Worley McMurray, and her dearly missed sister, Trula Starnes.
Mary dedicated her life to her family, always providing warmth, guidance, and a steady hand to those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter filled our homes, and her wisdom shaped generations. Her kindness and strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She is now home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Per her wishes a private graveside service will be conducted.
Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the McMurray family.
