Mattie Opal Thomas Creger

Mattie Opal Thomas Creger, 80, of Bristol, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Bristol, VA to the late George and Nellie Opal Thomas. Mattie loved working in her plants and taking care of her fur-babies. She especially enjoyed crocheting blankets and giving them to her family and friends. Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Creger; 5 sisters; 1 brother.

Survivors include her son, George Creger; daughter, Tracy Creger; son, Doug Creger; Son Sammy Creger; 8 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Vestia; brother, Bobby; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date.
