Ryan Patrick Bewley
May 6, 1980 — Sep 4, 2026
Ryan Patrick Bewley, age 46 of Mount Carmel, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 4, 2026. Surrounded by his family, Ryan’s faith carried him to eternal peace and healing. Ryan was born on May 6, 1980, in Kingsport, TN, to Jerry and Gloria Bewley. Ryan was a dedicated member of Oak Glen Baptist Church for the past 37 years.
Ryan, a devoted Christian whose relationship with God guided his life. With a servant’s heart, he served in children’s ministry at Oak Glen Baptist Church. Ryan loved sharing God’s love with the children and youth group and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Beyond his faith, Ryan enjoyed life’s simple pleasures; fishing, watching Ernest movies, rooting for his Kentucky Wildcats and spending time with his cherished pets. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends and will be remembered for his encouraging faith and kind heart. Though his family mourns his passing, Ryan is no longer in pain, and they are comforted by the assurance that the faith Ryan cherished throughout his life has become reality in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; two brothers, Richard Bewley (Donna), and Robert Bewley (Tami); one sister, Sharon Bewley (Johnny Dixon); a special daughter; two nieces, Hayley Beard (Austin), and Hannah Hartsock (Wayne); one nephew, Joshua Bewley (Alexis); special friends, Tammy Bright, and Brenda Calton; and many loving family members and friends.
Ryan’s family would like to thank the medical teams who cared for him throughout his courageous battle with cancer, especially Dr. Jai and Erin Thomas at Tennessee Cancer Specialists, the team at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and the staff at Johnson City Medical Center, whose compassion brought comfort in his final moments.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Oak Glen Baptist Church at oakglenbaptistchurch.org/give.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Oak Glen Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating with special music provided by the Oak Glen Combined Choir and special groups. A graveside will follow at Holston View Cemetery. Ryan’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
