Stella Sue Baker

Stella Sue Baker, age 75 of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Stella was born on September 11, 1950, in Dungannon, VA to Ezra and Bertha Hall. After high school, Stella attended vocational school and received her Certified Nurse Assistant certification. For the next twenty years she worked and served the people of her community. In 1966, Stella married Donald Baker Sr, and after 22 years of a beautiful marriage, he preceded her in death in 1988.

Stella loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed canning, flower gardening, and scooty-pootin down the country backroads.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Donald Baker Sr.; one son, Kenneth Baker; sisters, Cora McGee, Gaynelle O'Keefer, Ruby Chandler, Wilma Lovejoy, Marie Peak, Francis David, Glenna McCraken, and Teresa Mead; and brothers, Bill Laney, Jim Hall, and Joseph Hall. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth Stallard and husband, Terry; three sons, Johnny Hall, Donald Baker Jr., and Bruce Baker; special granddaughter, Kasey Burton and husband, Josh; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Jean Ramsey; special daughters-in-law, Tammy Baker, and Tina Murray; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
