Dorothy Hunkins

Dorothy Jane Hunkins (nee Horr/Marshall), of Waukesha, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the age of 96. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on September 29, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Eva (nee Emslie) Horr. Dorothy graduated from Waukesha High school in 1938 and graduated from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She served her country as Army First Lieutenant in the Philippines. Dorothy will be missed by her sons, Michael Hunkins, Craig Hunkins, and Jay (Jef Raasch) Hunkins; sister-in-law, Ruth Marshall; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; infant daughter, Candy, brother, William; and husband, James. The visitation for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The Rev. Nicole Farley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Nature Conservancy (633 West Main Street Madison, WI. 53703).
