James R Middleton
Dec 30, 1942 — Sep 26, 2026
James R. “Jim” Middleton, age 83, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, following complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Jim was born on December 30, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Charles and Alberta Middleton. He graduated from Baraboo High School in 1961 and went on to further his education by taking business courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College and Bryant & Stratton College.
In 1966, Jim proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked a variety of sales jobs before finding his career home with Boucher Automotive Group. Jim flourished in the sales department, where his natural ability to meet people, build relationships, and make others feel welcome served him well throughout his career.
Jim married the love of his life, Judith, in August of 1973. Together, they built a life centered around family and shared many wonderful memories. They were blessed with two children, James R. Middleton Jr. and Sarah J. Middleton.
Family was incredibly important to Jim. He especially enjoyed attending countless Special Olympics tournaments and events to cheer on his children and celebrate their accomplishments. He also loved returning to his hometown of Baraboo and spending time in the Wisconsin Dells, including visits to beautiful Devil’s Lake.
Jim will be remembered for his good sense of humor, his ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone, and his genuine interest in getting to know the people he met. He had a way of making others feel comfortable and welcomed, and his warm personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Middleton; his son, James R. Middleton Jr.; his daughter, Sarah J. Middleton; his sisters, Carolyn Michaletz and Elizabeth (Jim) Wearing; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and Bill Skurzewski, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alberta Middleton; his step-mother Gerri Middleton, his sister, Barbara; his brother, David; and brothers-in-law, Charles and Wayne.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Corpus Christi Parish – St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made in Jim’s name to the Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps (ARCh), 419 Frederick Street, Waukesha, WI 53186.
Jim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will continue to live on through his family and all those fortunate enough to have known him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Linden Grove in Waukesha and Common Heart Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Jim and his family.
