James T. Millane Jr

Of Hartland passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at the age of 92 years. He was born on December 21, 1920 in Milwaukee the son of James and Frieda (nee Eggebrecht) Millane. Jim served 39 months in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines, rarely speaking of the acts of sacrifice and courage endured under extreme duress. He was recognized for his service in 2012 by Stars and Stripes Honor Flight much to his delight. Employed as a Master Plumber and member of Union Local 75 he anchored his family as a hardworking, never tiring craftsman who loved building projects and inventing things. Jim and Anna enjoyed many years as snowbirds traveling the country in their 5th wheel and shared adventure stories with their children. Jim was bigger than life to his family who are grateful to have had him as their father. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Anna (nee Patin), of 71 years whom he married on April 11, 1942; his children, Patricia Harrett of WA, James (Monica) Millane of Dousman, WI, Ellen (Patrick) O'Brien of Delafield, WI, Mary (Charlie) Knoebel of GA, Anne Millane of Mayville, WI, Janice (Ed) Wasmer of CA, Thomas (Laurie) Millane of Viroqua, WI, Robert Millane of Ixonia, WI, Joan (Julian) Herrera of Pewaukee, WI, and Paul (Leslie) Millane of Ixonia, WI; his 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Schaak; sisters-in-law, Irene Patin, Catherine Millane and Elda Millane as well as many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Jack Millane; and daughter, Peggy Schaak. The visitation for Jim will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 6:30 p.m. funeral service on Thurs., Dec. 19, 2013, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Burial will be private for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
