Judith Margaret Schutte

Judith “Judy” Margaret Schutte, née Rieve, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Hudson, Florida, on September 16, 2026.

Judy will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Patti), Diane, Dan (Donna), and Dean; her grandchildren, Jason, Brenda, Tony, Steven, Rebecca, Joseph, and Samuel; her step-grandchildren, Nate, Ben, Seth, Megan, and Colleen; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Kenna, David, Nicolas, Gavin, and Greyson; and her step-great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ashton, Drew, Jakob, Abbie, Grant, Nora, William, James, Harper, Atticus (deceased), Santi, Mari, and Ruben.

She is further survived by her sister, Joanne Kalkhoff (the late Glen); sister-in-law, Marion Pohlmann (the late Guenther); godchildren, Craig Widmann and Cindy Karnitz; niece, Heidi Burmeister (Martin); and nephews, Eric Pohlmann (Claudia), Greg Kalkhoff, Jeff Kalkhoff, and Michael Kalkhoff.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy E. Schutte; her parents, Gil and Clara Rieve; her parents-in-law, Tony and Anna Schutte; and her infant grandchildren, Kristi and Brian.

For much of her life, Judy was a devoted stay-at-home mother who cherished raising her family and being involved in her community. She served as a den mother, school nurse, and Sunday School teacher. She also worked at Waukesha Motors in the 1950s, later working as a receptionist for a local dentist and as a waitress at Meurer’s Bakery.

Judy and Roy shared a love of old cars and were members of the Old Car Club in Waukesha. In 1990, they retired to Pickerel, Wisconsin, where they purchased a home on beautiful Crystal Lake. They eventually moved to Watertown to be closer to their children. For the past two years, Judy had enjoyed living in Hudson, Florida, with her son, Dean.

Judy was a woman who found joy in her family, her community, and the simple things she loved. And it would be impossible to tell her story without mentioning her beloved Milwaukee Brewers. She was a devoted fan, watching the games faithfully with Dean—even watching the game together the night before she passed.

Judy’s family will remember her with love and gratitude for the many years, memories, and moments they shared with her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with a service to follow at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.
