Phyllis Thorstad

Phyllis E. Thorstad, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. Phyllis was born in Cumberland, WI on December 31, 1943, the daughter of Anthony and Dora Nevin. On August 1, 1964, Phyllis married Lenus Thorstad and they raised two sons. Phyllis was an integral part of the startup and development of the Word Processing Department at WCTC where she worked for over 30 years. Phyllis loved being on the water; whether it was water skiing or boating. She was an avid camper at Bark River Camp Ground where she and Len enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Phyllis will always be remembered for her kind and giving spirit. Phyllis is survived by her son Kevin (Jenny) Thorstad of Muskego; grandchildren Madeline and Lucas; and son Chad (Diane) Thorstad of Theresa, WI. She is further survived by her sister, Jean (Dick) Balliette; godchild, Roxanne (Larry) Daily; and many other relatives and friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lenus; and brothers, Donald and DeWayne (Buzz). The visitation for Phyllis will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The burial will take place immediately following at Prairie Home Cemetery.
