Ronald Fenske

Ronald Fenske, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on July 8, 1947, to Raymond and Laura Fenske (née Cherek) in Birnamwood, WI.

Ronald served his country with honor and dedication, achieving the rank of Buck Sergeant before being honorably discharged from the military. He was honored to participate in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight where his daughter Kelly was his guardian. On September 21, 1968, he married the love of his life, Janet. Together, they had three children and shared a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

An avid fan of Wisconsin sports teams, Ronald was known for his enthusiasm and passion. He loved traveling across the United States, with his favorite destination being the majestic Redwoods in California, a place he cherished visiting with Janet.

One of Ronald’s greatest joys was his 1963 Chevy Nova, a car he took immense pride in, winning numerous trophies at car shows. He thoroughly enjoyed attending these events and sharing his passion with fellow enthusiasts. Additionally, Ronald found joy in spending time with his family, gardening, doing yard work, and being in nature.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Janet, his children; Ronnie (Susanne) Fenske of Clarion, PA, Kelly (Steve) Savatski of North Prairie, and Alan (Julie) Fenske of Colorado Springs, CO. He was a proud grandfather to Kathryn Fenske, Megan Fenske, Payton Savatski, Abigail Savatski, and Benjamin Savatski, who affectionately called him "Grandpa" and cherished the time they spent with him, especially his playful teasing. Ronald is also survived by his sister: Marilyn Glenn of AK.

 He was a dear brother-in-law to John (the late Judy) Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Laura, and his siblings Kenneth, Gerald, Shirley, Sharon, Diane and brother-in-law Robert.

The visitation for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until the start of services at 6:00 p.m. at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. A burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182 on August 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight of Wisconsin.
