Shelby L. Hemauer

June 20, 1937 to August 16, 2026

Shelby L. Hemauer, resident of Waukesha, WI, was called home August 16, 2026 in Waukesha, at the age of 89 years. She was born in Norway, Michigan, the daughter of Michael and Viola (Paschke) Rucinski. Shelby was educated in the Norway and Waukesha School System. She was active in school, and enjoyed playing the violin in the school orchestra. She was also a member of the school's drama club which was a fond memory of hers. She was a graduate of Waukesha South High School.

Shelby liked to work outside of the home she helped create for her three children.

She held several different jobs including working at the Tastee-Freeze, China City Restaurant, National Tea Supermarket, and managing the deli at the Speedway Gas Station, all in Waukesha. She retired from her position as a bank teller in Brookfield in 1984.

Shelby was a very social person, enjoying a variety of interests with her many friends. She was a member of Curves and a part of her bowling team for many years. She enjoyed singing in the church choir at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Waukesha where she also donated handknit prayer shawls. She also worked the polls in Wales WI for many years, which was something she was proud of. She was a huge fan of the Brewers and also liked the Packers. She watched every game or listened on the radio. She knew all of the Brewer's players' names and stats. It was so fun for her.

Shelby is survived by her children Lygia (Mark) Sie, Cindy (John) Miller, and Daniel (Julie) Miller; her grandchildren Joshua Harwood, Aaron (Angie) Harwood, Ryan (Corri) Sie, Adam (Megan) Dixon, Brandon (Kristin) Dixon, Nicole (Will) Christensen; and her great-grandchildren Kennedy, Ellaina, Shay, Noah H., Noah S., Miles, Ava, Adalyn, Revel, Eira, Emily, Brooklyn and Kace; she is further survived by her sisters-in-law Diane Rucinski, Kathleen (Jay) Fontaine, Sharon Kaczmarski and brother-in-law John (Joyce) Hemauer; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her former spouses Frank Hemauer and John Miller; her parents Michael and Viola Rucinski, brothers Dennis Rucinski and Dale Rucinski, sister Doris Ferguson, brother-in-law Fred Ferguson and granddaughter Lauren Miller.

The visitation for Shelby will be held on Thursday August 27 from 10:30 until the service begins at 12:00 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, WI

Rev. Dr. Lindsay Paul Jordan Sr. will officiate. The burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, New Berlin. Memorials are appreciated to St. Lukes.
