Anthony F. D'Anna
Aug 17, 1939 — Oct 17, 2026
Anthony F. D’Anna, affectionately known as “Tony,” passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on August 17, 1939, in Manhattan, New York City, to Vincent and Leonarda D’Anna, Tony was the middle of three brothers, growing up alongside Al and Vincent. Raised in Brooklyn, in a close-knit Italian family, he learned early that family was everything. The traditions they shared, and the love that connected generations remained an enduring part of his life.
Tony spent his wonderful high school years at Cardinal Farley Military Academy in Rhinebeck, NY. He met his wife, Alice, at a dance in Brooklyn and married in 1962 beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned 64 years. Early in his twenties, he began his successful career in the Scandinavian furniture industry. Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club of Punta Gorda.
Tony and Alice began their family life in Brooklyn before moving to Morse Lakes in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, where they raised their children and fulfilled Tony’s dream of living on the water. He later made Punta Gorda, Florida, his home, spending the next 34 years building lasting friendships, enjoying life on the water, and taking in the beautiful sunsets he loved so much.
Tony will be remembered by family and friends as an honest, sincere, generous, and dependable man with an enormous sense of humor. A devoted provider, he worked hard to care for his family and was someone everyone could count on.
Tony loved spending time on his boat, the RIG-A-TONY, and looked forward to annual trips to Mexico with Alice. He deeply valued the friendships he built at Cardinal Farley, throughout his career in the furniture business, and through his enjoyment of bocce and golf, as well as the camaraderie he shared with fellow Elks members and so many others along the way.
Tony had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. A passionate chef and legendary host, he delighted in preparing meals for family and friends and was known for his homemade pizzas and breads which he generously shared.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Sheridan), his son, Anthony; his daughters, Alyson and husband Dan, and Alexandra; and his devoted grandchildren, Scott, Charlie, Isabella, Grant, and Ariel. He was also a beloved uncle and cousin.
His family will forever cherish the unconditional love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the countless memories they share as the D’Anna Family.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 211 W. Charlotte Avenue, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at the church, offering family and friends an opportunity to honor the beautiful legacy that Tony leaves in our hearts.
Tony will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside Queens NY.
