Dominick J. Mileto, a devoted father, loving husband, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 15th, 2026 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a hardworking and compassionate individual, renowned for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering support for those around him. Dominick's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew him.

Dominick enjoyed attending concerts, plays, and building and flying model airplanes and belonged to the Cape Coral R/SEA Hawks.

Born on September 25, 1936 to Giacomo and Anna Mileto from Reggio Calabria, Italy, born and raised in Staten Island, N.Y., Dominick exemplified kindness, fairness, and humanitarianism throughout his life. A proud graduate of Port Richmond High School and St. Peter's College with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Education and Administration, he served as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police in the Army, including time in Korea and Texas. His career in education spanned decades profoundly impacting the lives he touched from teaching at Oakside Elementary to serving as Vice Principal and Principal at Peekskill High School, and finally as Director of Pupil Personnel before retiring in 1994.

Residing in Punta Gorda, FL, since then, Dominick worked with the City of Cape Coral and belonged to the parish of Sacred Heart. He volunteered tirelessly at St. Vincent de Paul. He was a devout Catholic, a generous donor to charities like St. Jude's and Tunnel to Towers, and a man whose life of service touched countless lives. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Margaret, his daughters Lisa (Todd), Laura, Linda, and five cherished grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Dominick's legacy of giving, faith, and love will forever inspire those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held to honor his life and legacy, celebrating the remarkable, adored and selfless person he was. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:

Viewing will be at Charlotte Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, September 29th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Punta Gorda, Florida on Wednesday, September 30th at 10:00am.
