Dorothy (Dottie) Stewart

Dorothy Mae Stewart (Dottie) Age-65 of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away at Tidewell Hospice on June 5th, 2026.

Dottie was born on August 8th, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York and was a native of New York City. She has been a resident of Charlotte County Florida for the last 34 years. She was a 1978 graduate of Flushing High School. Dottie worked as a Teachers Aide and Food Service worker for Charlotte County Public Schools. Dottie enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, watching tv going out to eat and traveling out of town. Dorothy had a strong religious background and faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn D. Stewart of Port Charlotte, Florida, her former spouse Carol Stewart of Fort Myers, Florida, a sister, Miriam Beverly of Edenton, North Carolina; two nieces, Lakeshia Shamblee of Garner, North Carolina and Adriana Beverly of Manhattan, New York, a nephew Curtis Beverly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otelia and Alonzo Beverly and a son Anthony L. Stewart.

A visitation will be held on June 25th, 2026, from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 26th at 11am followed by interment in Charlotte Memorial Cemetery.
