Jane Martin Smith

Jane Martin Smith, 86, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was born in North Middletown, Kentucky on September 30, 1939 to the late Edmund and Jane Marr Martin. Jane was a Homebound Teacher for 20 years. She graduated from Transylvania University in 1961 and was an active member of First Christian Church. Jane volunteered with the Red Cross, member of the ADK Teacher Sorority, and a member of the Garden Club in Frankfort.

Jane is survived by her son, Alan Smith; her grandchildren, Julia Triplett (Jeremy) Alex Clark (Kelsey), and Jacob Clark; and her great grandchildren, Harper, Reagan, Blake, and Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Stanley Smith; and her son, Stuart Martin Smith.

Gathering of Family and friends will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. A Celebration of Jane's Life will follow at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the funeral home.
