Janie Marie Cox

Janie Marie Cox, 68, wife of Clarence Cox, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was born in Boyle County, Kentucky on June 10, 1957 to the late James and Nellie Coffman Johnson. Janie worked for the City of Frankfort as a bus driver. Also, Janie and Clarence owned and operated their own trucking company called J and C Trucking. She loved animals, especially goats, horses, and cows, and she loved being outside fishing.

In addition to her husband Clarence, she is survived by her son, Daniel Kirk (Lisa); her siblings, Cricket, Linda, Barbara, Brenda, Emma, and James Jr.; and her grandchildren, Dale Kirk, Emily Kirk, John Ethington II, and Jacob Ethington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Kirk; her siblings, Pam, Claudia, Stanley, Leo, Mary, and Robert.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00pm at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Michael Cox, Allen Burris, Hank McKinney, Dale Kirk, Jamie Bingham, and Freddy Doss. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
