Michael David Triplett
Sep 9, 1946 — Jul 5, 2026
Michael David Triplett, 79, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2026.
Born September 9, 1946, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Geneva Graves Vaughan and Harry Gipson Triplett. He graduated from Franklin County High School, where he played varsity football all four years. He served in the United States Army National Guard and worked at Boone National Guard Center before a 36-year career with AT&T.
A man of strong and abiding faith, Mike was a member of Thornhill Baptist Church, where he chaperoned multiple mission trips with the youth group and served as Treasurer, and Capital City Christian Church.
Mike loved landscaping and working in his yard, and each December he transformed his home into a Christmas display that was legendary in the neighborhood. A passionate and loyal fan, he cheered for the Kentucky Wildcats, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds through every season.
Nothing, though, meant more to Mike than his family. He was kind, selfless, endlessly devoted, and quick to make them laugh—present for every game, recital, and milestone in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Nicole Triplett. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 51 years, Kaye Barber Triplett; his son, Jeremy Stewart Triplett (Julia); his granddaughters, Harper Kate Triplett and Reagan Blair Triplett; and his sister, Patsy Triplett Smith, along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, on Monday, July 13 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Stephen Pattison and Ben Webb will officiate.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home.
Gary Bailey, Brad Chase, Andrew Dodson, John Martin, Dusty Rhodes, and Chris Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Fred Goins, Doyle Manley, and Harold Robinson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
