March 3, 1934 — February 20, 2026
Robert “Bob” Edwin Bryan, 91, widower of Joyce Grogan Bryan, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. Bob was born in Candler, NC to the late Dewey and Vivian Price Bryan on March 3, 1934. He graduated from Berea College in 1956 where he met Joyce, his beloved wife of 67 years. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC and they later settled in Frankfort to raise their family. Bob worked as an accountant for most of his career and retired from Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority. He was a member of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church.
Bob was a very charitable man and caregiver to many over his lifetime. He was a kind, witty, gentle man who cherished his family and was loved by everyone who crossed his path. Bob was lovingly known as “Pap” to his grandchildren, their friends, and others as well. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching and supporting them in all their activities. Bob liked traveling, watching sports, gardening, spending time outside, reading, and working puzzles. He was blessed to have been lovingly cared for by several special individuals in recent months.
He is survived by daughters, Rachel Cox (Keith) and Kristi Hammons (Tim); brother, Norman Bryan (Ginger); sister-in-law, Aldeva Bryan; grandchildren, Bryan Cox (Erin), Lindsey Cox, Trevor Hammons, and Gregory Hammons; great grandchildren, Elijah Hammons and Conner Bridges; and his precious spoiled cat, Tanna.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Doyce Bryan; and sister, Ruth Bryan Cooper.
