Thelma Pauline Hess

Thelma Pauline Hess, 81, widow of Gary Allen Hess, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born in Centerville, Iowa on July 3, 1944 to the late Hershel Parkinson and Leah McNeff Freeborn Brokaw. Thelma was a first-grade teacher for 12 years.  She was also a minister and missionary to many nations since 1990 with her late husband Gary through Circle of Love Ministries.

She is survived by her children, David Hess (Kelly) and Jonathan Hess; and her sister-in-law, Ingrid Freeborn.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Freeborn.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Rose Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to David Hess Ministries.
