Anita D. Davenport

Anita D. Davenport, 77, died February 6, 2018. She is survived by her nieces Mary (Tom) Mayborg, Diane Burris and Jill (Ed) Cravins and nephews Mike (Debbie) Burris, John (Kathy) Burris, Mark Burris and Gary (Moana) Burris. She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Mary (Vachunas) Davenport and sisters Nancy Davenport and Winona Burris. Anita retired after 30 years as a college librarian. She was an avid reader, often buying many books at a time, but was always willing to share them with neighbors and friends when she finished reading them. She was generous throughout her life, sharing with others in need, especially children who were under privileged, whether foreign, or domestic. Anita was a homebody, who loved spending time with her pets, reading and looking for opportunities to help others. Of her many loves, she cherished cats and dogs, and tried in many ways to care for them. No serviced are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Anita’s name to the Lexington Humane Society. https://lexingtonhumanesociety.org/
