Barbara Jane Durham, 76, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Hospice Care Center. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Gilbert and Margaret Katheryn Humble Durham. Barbara graduated from Lafayette High School in 1957, following her graduation from Lafayette she went to work for Square D, a dental lab, after working for the dental lab, Barbara attended Georgetown College and Kentucky State University, after attending college she worked for Parker Seal, Rockwell and Pony Express where she was a Courier and Dispatcher. Barbara was an active member of Lexington Pilgrim Holiness Church, a former bus driver for the Fayette County Schools, Barbara loved working at the track, where she was a Para Mutual Ticket Seller at Keeneland, Churchill Downs and Turfway Park. Barbara was an active member of the KEA and very involved in the educational system before retiring and she was a retired member of the Board of Directors of KEA. She is survived by her brother; Robert L. {Brenda} Durham, London, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, her best friend; Latricia Whalen, Lexington and her children; Kathleen {Brent} Boggs and Donna Whalen, who were Barbara's God daughters; and Kathleen and Brent's children; Natalie, Nathan, Emily and Ethan Boggs, who were Barbara's God grandchildren.
Funeral Information
Her visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center Brannon Crossing followed by her service at 6 p.m. conducted by Rev. Chris Dewhurst.
