Barbara Claire Semler, 90, passed away on August 23, 2018.
Barbara was born on August 4, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Howard and Claire Corbidge. She graduated from Watervliet High School, (MI) in 1946. She attended Western Michigan University and graduated in 1950 with a BA in Art & Education. She helped initiate and served as President of the National Gamma Beta Chapter of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She also later served as the President of the Sorority Alumni Chapter.
She was a devoted Special Education Teacher for 30 years and she dearly loved teaching and serving students with special needs.
Barbara married Philip M. Semler in 1950 and they were married for 67 years. They had 5 children of whom she was very proud.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip, parents, Howard and Claire Corbidge, granddaughter, Christine Kupets and son-in-law Barry Adkins, grandson, Robert Semler and cousin Joan Walker.
She is survived by her son, Bradley Semler, daughter Valerie (Brian) McKeighen, daughter Victoria Partridge, daughter Christine Adkins, daughter Constance (Thom) Kupets, grandchildren , James (Nicole), Kathryn (Tim), Laura (Ryan), Carly, Blair (Austin) and Victoria, granddaughter in law Lindsay, great grandchildren Keili, Raena, Shane, Ryan and Eliza; sister in law Connie Preston and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are pending at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill in Versailles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kentucky Organ Donors Affiliates.
