Benton Walling

Benton Walling, 83, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. The husband of Mary L. Walling, Benton was born November 29, 1934 to the late John and Lillie Warner Walling in Winchester, KY. A Navy Veteran, Benton served 4 years active duty and remained in the reserves for another 6 years. He loved being outdoors, working on his trucks, and his beloved cats, Tuffy and Cricket. Benton is survived by his children, Rena Kay Walling (Charles) Traugott, Peggy (Charley) Tipton, Ben (Linda) Walling, and Danny Walling, all of Versailles; brothers, Bill (Patty) Walling, Waddy and Jerry Walling, Frankfort; grandchildren, Rebecca (Danny) Owens, Amanda Traugott, Chrissy (Josh) Hunter, Amy Tipton, Thomas (Sara) Tipton, Trisha Ratcliff, Melody (Michael) Traugott, and Mikaela Walling; and great grandchildren, Danny Wayne, Cameron, Alex, and Brandon Owens, Clayton Berger, Chloe Muniz, Gracie and Kyle Fetters, and Colton Tipton. In addition to his parents, Benton was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jenna Kay Walling; twin brother, Basel Walling; brothers, Mark Walling and Wayne Walling; and sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Morris. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00a, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, officiated by Gary Maynard with burial to follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00p-8:00p, Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the funeral home. Josh Hunter, Danny Wayne Owens, Cameron Owens, Clayton Berger, Charles Traugott, and Gene Owens will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Traugott, Rebecca Owens, Chrissy Hunter, Amy Tipton, and Mikaela Walling.
